What are Cosmetic Fillers?
Injectable cosmetic fillers have been around for decades. Fillers are materials injected underneath the skin causing it to look fuller and show fewer wrinkles.
A quick history: The skin is held together by collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid which create a firm meshwork under the skin’s surface. Aging causes the meshwork to weaken and the skin begins to lose its original baby-soft feel. Using cosmetic fillers improves the skin’s contour and reduces depressions in the face due to scars, injury, wrinkles or lines.
