What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is the manual exfoliation with a scalpel to superficially scrape away the uppermost layer of dead skin and the uppermost portion of the Stratum Corneum, along with the fine vellus hairs.
Excess vellus hairs can cause a build-up of dirt and oils in the hair follicles and removing them yields healthier looking skin.
Vellus Hairs: The fine, non-pigmented hair (aka “peach fuzz”) covering the skin.
