Radiesse® is a dermal filler used to smooth moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. It’s also used for correcting volume loss in the back of the hands.
What sets Radiesse apart from other dermal fillers is its durability, longevity, and versatility. The unique composition of Radiesse provides immediate visual improvement seen with other fillers along with the benefit of long-lasting results.
What is Radiesse?
Radiesse is a calcium-based filler which works in the short-term to add volume to the skin and in the long-term continues to stimulate your own natural collagen which provides additional structure. It’s also been clinically proven to last a year or more in many patients.
The average duration of the Radiesse procedure at our center runs 15 minutes to 40 minutes per session with dental blocks or local anesthesia. An initial period of swelling is expected and can last a few days. Some patients experience a small amount of bruising in the injected areas.
With a treatment like Radiesse, you no longer have to put up with signs of premature aging. Lines, creases, and wrinkles can be smoothed out, creating a younger and more vibrant looking you.
Patients receiving a Radiesse injection may have an injection site reaction. These reactions can include inflammation and usually last less than seven days. For approximately 24 hours after treatment, avoid exposure to the following to avoid temporary redness, swelling, and/or itching at the injection site.
- Strenuous activity
- Extensive sun or heat exposure
- Aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
- Alcoholic beverages
