Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) - Vampire Facelift
You’ve probably heard about Vampire Facelifts in the news. Basically, it’s not quite as scary as it sounds or even looks!
What is a Vampire Facelift?
A Vampire Facelift isn’t a facelift, not in the traditional sense because there are no knives, nips or tucks but it does have the rejuvenating effect of cosmetic surgery.
In simplest terms, the doctor draws blood from the patient’s arm and separates the platelets into platelet-rich plasma using a centrifuge. The platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is sometimes combined with a filler such as Restylane or Juvederm and then injected back into the face, or other treatment areas, to stimulate collagen production and to help remove fine lines and acne scars.
The procedure takes about 45 minutes to an hour to perform and results generally last up to 18 months.
